Toyota Celicas have been about for quite some time now.  Not quite as old as the Ford Pinto, but you know what I mean.  Celicas have always been known for being the affordable sports car manufactured by Toyota.

But, whats so nice about this car?  When in comparison to other similar priced vehicles, their quickness is no where close to the performance that other cars can produce.

Not only that, Honda’s and Scion’s have much more aftermarket parts availiable for tricking out your ride.  So, once in a while you’ll see a Black Toyota Celica in a street race, but if your a true racer, you are not afraid of the Celica.

Modified Honda’s or Scion’s, even Chevy’s will blow away the Toyota.  But that doesn’t stop Toyota lovers from their Celicas.  Of course, they have their parts for modding, and they look pretty sweet, but when it comes down to racing, they just don’t cut it.

It’s not common to see a Toyota Celica For Sale today, it seems like they have all disappeared off the market.  Unforunately for the US, we get the shaft as the imported Celica’s can be quite beastly.

But, for Americans, it appears that all of the import cars get dumbed down when they come to America to comply with our sorry standards for safety, when in reality it is just dumb drivers that cause all the havoc.

Toyota makes great autos, you can nearly always rely on them that you are going to get a quality vehicle that will last you a while, and they’ve proven that over the years.

All in all, I think Toyota Celicas are quality automobiles, driveable, and reliable, but if you plan on racing one of these babies, you should prepare yourself to lose quite a bit, or be willing to put plenty of time and effort into modifications to compete with the big dogs.

It will often have many different part numbers for the different brands like FRAM, Motor craft, Percolate etc - just pick one, they will all fit your application.

Once you have the oil, filter and tools, you will simply need to either jack your vehicle up or use a set of ramps. Place your collection container under the drain plug; turn it a few times with the wrench and the oil dirty oil will flow out. Now you can remove the filter with your filter wrench, install the new filter, and replace the drain plug. Now on the top of your car you simply need to add the new oil. Most cars need 4-5 quarts again this will be in your owner’s manual.

For certain cars like Mercedes and BMW that have an indicator light which tells you when to change the oil you might need an OBD-II Scan Tool or obd ii reader to reset this indication. Most company recommend you change your oil every 3 to 5 thousand miles. In addition if you are driving in harsh or dusty conditions you should also change the oil filter at the same time.

For under $10 you can do what most of the oil change places charge $30-40 dollars and probably save time by the time to figure driving there and back plus waiting around.
